Have you ever thrown in your pants into the washing machine only to realize that your USB flash drive was inside as well? Chances are all that spinning and water would spell the end of all data stored on the adventurous flash drive, but there is still a glimmer of hope in retrieving whatever information that’s left on it. Apparently, WD-40 could be sprayed over the components (after you pry the flash drive open, of course), leaving it to dry and preventing the internal components from rusting. It won’t make your flash drive smell nice at all, and you’ll probably need plenty of tissue nearby, but at least you know those sensitive data that can still be retrieved. Anyone has other remedies to save a drowned piece of electronics?
