The WowWee FlyTech Bladestar hopes to change the indoor helicopter landscape with its release, and is touted to be first flying toy that comes with sensor-based navigation, although that’s not what I gather with the Taiyo Wireless Helicopter we looked at last week. Inside the FlyTech one will find integrated infrared sensors that allow it to avoid ceilings, walls and other obstacles automatically in order to preserve and prolong its life from the potential abuse it gets when the remote control is in the hands of somebody incapable. Each flyer comes with a three-channel digital infrared controller which can turn on autopilot mode or manual mode. You can even throw in a “dogfight” accessory if you and your mate have a FlyTech Bladestar each. You can pick up this hot toy for $49.99 a pop, and each purchase is accompanied by a couple of spare wings and propellers, along with a protective carrying case.
