Yahoo! has a new free iPhone application ready – the OneConnect. What’s so great about this, you ask? Well, it is able to centralize communications and social-networking activity, turning your normally boring address book into something that’s alive. It is encouraging to see Yahoo! take the initiative by competing with Google as well as other players when it comes to mobile device applications, as competition tends to raise the standards, and we end users will end up as the primary beneficiaries. For example, OneConnect has a Pulse feature that allows you to tap into everything going on with your friends, pulling news feeds from Facebook, MySpace, Bebo, Last.fm along with the other leading social networks in a single aggregated view. Pretty neat IMHO.
