Acer’s Aspire Gemstone line has received a refresh with four more models ready to make the fool geek part with his money – the Aspire 8930, 6930, 5735 and 4730. All four models will target people who want notebooks that are not only capable of running everyday tasks, but doubles up as a capable mobile entertainment machine as well. The high end 8930 multimedia notebook comes with an extra generous 18.4″ WUXGA display which is capable of native 1080p resolution, which makes it a no-brainer to include the optional Blu-ray Disc drive if you want to maximize its use. Other specifications aren’t too shabby either, with an Intel Core 2 Duo 2.53GHz processor, 4GB RAM and Nvidia GeForce 9700M GT 512MB video card powering this $1,700 system. The Aspire 6930 ain’t that powerful, although it does have a decent 16″ display, while the low end Aspire 5375 and 4730 models will start from an affordable $550 upwards.
