Apple developers get new iPhone OS beta

Apple developers should be happy this weekend. Apple Insider says the devs were provided with new test release of an iPhone software update.

They received the iPhone Software 2.2 beta 2 along with a new version of the iPhone SDK with support for hardware accessories that provide audio input to the iPhone and iPod touch. Some expected features of the new software:

  • Add Google Street Views to the handset’s built-in Maps application.
  • Include option to turn off the iPhone’s text auto-correction
  • Support for Japanese emoticons.
