The DataWind PocketSurfer2 has finally been released just at the turn of this month, and it will come with updated features include a touchpad, an integrated GPS receiver, a new and improved display, better Vodafone network coverage and some rather tempting data plan options. Across the pond in the US, the PocketSurfer2 is known as the PC Edge sans the mentioned updates, albeit with a price point that’s reduced by $100. This means those residing in America will fork out $200 for the unit with a $24.99 monthly fee, while folks living in the UK will fork out £200 with 20 hours of free surfing each month for the entire year. Once the initial first year honeymoon is up, UK owners can choose between a £40 annual fee or a one-time £60 fee for the Immortality Plan that provides unlimited surfing for the device’s entire lifetime.
