
Things aren’t getting better: eBay just announced that it will lay off 10% of its global workforce to cut costs and “Streamline” its organization. The company also announced that it was acquiring Bill Me Later and dba.dk (classified), bilbasen.dk (automobile) – two leading sites in Denmark. Sony Ericsson will cut 2000 jobs. In the U.S, it is 450 jobs that will disappear in the company R&D division in North Carolina. Obviously, the weak economy is the main motivation for the cuts. Note that Sony Ericsson’s high-end XPERIA X1 phone is actually manufactured (and most likely designed) by HTC.
