This just in – Gmail for mobile 2.0 is now available for J2ME-supported and BlackBerry phones. As with any other new releases, you can expect better and faster features. According to one of the developers, “We rearchitected the entire client to push all the processing to the background, greatly improve the client-side caching scheme and optimize every bottleneck piece of code we came across.” Never mind all the technical mumbo-jumbo – all you need to know are the following improvements :-
- Overall performance improvement
- Multiple accounts management
- Multiple mobile email drafts
- Powerful shortcut keys
- Basic offline support
Gmail for mobile 2.0 can be downloaded in over 35 languages, but do take note that all the above mentioned features are not available for all handsets.
