
CEATEC is the platform for KDDI to display the Samsung-made 3.1″ OLED display that is capable of displaying images of up to 800 x 480 resolution, making it suitable to support DVD resolution video without the negative impact of shedding pixels, giving you near print-quality text. This display is currently a prototype, so it would be nice to see them hit a manufacturing stride sooner rather than later. Cell phones as well as other portable devices will never be the same again with this new OLED display technology, that’s for sure.
