MiTAC Works On Netbook Release

MiTAC might be more famous for their range of GPS devices, but the company also wants a piece of the netbook market by working hard to release their own netbook before the year is over. Hopefully their efforts will bear fruit before Christmas or else they would definitely lose a fair bit of sales then. The MiTAC netbook will feature the usual ticket items such as a 8.9″ display, an Intel Atom 1.6GHz processor, Bluetooth connectivity and a choice between a hard drive or a solid state drive. It won’t run on Windows XP but will rely on the gOS Linux distribution instead. No idea on how MiTAC will position their netbook in terms of pricing though.
