Asus isn’t only content with taking over the world of netbooks, but is attempting to make a name for itself in the nettop arena as well. The new Eee Top (also known as the Eee Monitor) will come in 15.6″ and 19″ flavors, featuring Linux as the operating platform of choice and Intel’s 1.6GHz Atom processor. Priced at approximately $450, this is cheaper than the speculated $500 price point earlier on. It would be interesting to see how Asus’ new Eee Top line is able to make an impact in desktop sales – will it eat into other manufacturers’ bottom lines, or is it a niche market by itself?
