Raon Digital Everun Note Takes SSD Step

Raon Digital will be releasing a new Everun Note netbook, ditching the 60GB hard drive in favor of an SSD-based family which will see two configuration options as shown below :-

  • S16S (1.2GHz Sempron, 16GB SSD, Ubuntu, $659)
  • D24S (1.2GHz Turion 64 X2, 24GB SSD [8GB fast SLC, 16GB standard MLC], Windows XP, $950)

Would you trade 60GB of hard drive space for 24GB worth of capacity for a slight performance increase? I wouldn’t, but if you’re still going to take the plunge, there is the SD memory card slot that can help augment your storage solutions. Expect the S16S to be released sometime in the middle of next month, but the D24S is already readily available.
