Samsung demonstrate carbon nanotube-based color e-paper

Samsung demonstrated its 14.3″ color e-paper display at the International Meeting on Information Display (iMiD) in Korea. Like other e-papers, this display is capable of displaying an image without being refreshed (and therefore consuming power). It also doesn’t need to be back lit, which makes it perfectly readable in direct sunlight.

When the technology matures, e-paper will induce even more changes in today’s media and advertising industry, but for now, consumers’ only choice is the plain old monochrome stuff. Let’s hope that this changes soon. [via gizmag]
