Samsung Omnia Heads For South America

While the Samsung Omnia has appeared in the annals of the FCC to raise hopes of a North American release, it was actually meant for our neighbors living on the south side of the continent. The i900L will be out in Venezuela (some say Brazil even due to the 2100 band), although plenty of people will be straining their necks to see the i907 and i910 released by AT&T and Verizon, respectively, in coming months as well. Specifications for the Samsung Omnia include :-

  • Stereo Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connectivity
  • 3.2″ WQVGA (240 × 400 resolution) touchscreen
  • 5 megapixel camera with auto-focus
  • Face and smile detection
  • Windows Mobile 6.1 with Samsung’s widget-friendly TouchWiz user interfaceCPU: Marvell 624MHz
  • Built-in GPS
  • Accelerometer for auto-rotation
  • microSD memory card slot
  • 8GB/16GB internal memory

No word on pricing yet though.
