American Airlines passengers will soon be able to receive boarding passes on their cell phones at selected airports in due time. The first passengers to enjoy this feature will be those leaving on domestic flights from Chicago’s O’Hare International Airport, followed by domestic flights from Los Angeles International and John Wayne Orange County airports. Email will be the medium of choice where barcodes are sent, which will probably mean that a browser or capable email client is compulsory. These barcodes will be scanned at both checkpoints and the American Airlines gates.
