Dell has lifted the curtain on its Inspiron Mini 12, making it available to the US market as of today. This sleek notebook will probably train its target on the Asus Eee PC S101, since both of them occupy the 12″ screen size market and have that overall sleek look as a comparison. You will be able to choose from two version (now that’s a surprise), with the $549 model powered by an Intel Atom 1.33GHz processor, featuring 1GB RAM, a 40GB hard drive and Windows Vista Home Basic. Those who want more processing muscle can opt for the faster 1.6GHz processor with a 60GB hard drive and 6-cell battery. Of course, there is always the option to throw in an 80GB hard drive if that’s your preference, so juggle your budget wisely.
