Dish Network will be rolling out its DTVPal DVR in the middle of next month for $250 after a $50 instant rebate. Just in case it looks mighty familiar to you, that’s because it debuted at CES this year under the moniker of EchoStar TR-50. The updated version is shown above, and while there are minor cosmetic changes, most of the core feature set is retained including the ability to record digital TV programming to its internal hard drive, 7-day electronic programming guide and support for closed captioning, program search and analog passthrough. You won’t need any subscription fee or contract with this though, and the DTVPal DVR has enough space to store up to 30 hours of HD video or 150 hours of standard-def. Pre-orders begin from November 19th onwards.
