Word on the street has it that the iPhone 3G might get another $50 discount off the current $199 price point, which makes the iPhone in the US all the more affordable, although it certainly cannot compare to the iPhone 3G in Europe that currently retails for a mere 99 Euros, courtesy of Orange. Guess this rumor, should it be true, will help boost Costco’s bottom line next year as the $149 iPhone 3G will be available there then. Does this mean the iPhone 3G will take an even more commanding lead in the US cell phone market?
