Large E-ink Displays At FDPI Conference

E-ink displays look set to stay, with the FDPI conference in Yokohama this week showing off a wall of 30 x 30 cm e-ink paper displays. The entire sheet is made out of acrylic resin, and these e-ink displays are made out of rotating fine particles complete with lower and upper surfaces whenever some voltage is applied. Patterned electrodes will control the clock digits to depict time accurately. It will definitely be interesting to see more ad space open up with these e-ink displays, but with the world economy in trouble at the moment, it might take a while before corporations see beyond traditional advertising medium.
