The sun is good for many things, and chief among them include sustaining life on earth. Why not make farming more environmentally friendly with a solar-powered tractor? That’s exactly what Open Energy is working on, fitting a 26sq m solar panel on their new range of tractors to help farmers with weeding, drilling and ploughing tasks without adding to the carbon footprint. These panels have been specially designed to adjust their position constantly in order to harness most of the sun throughout the entire day, increasing efficiency by 40% while reducing the dependence on direct sunlight. Neat!
