Sony Ericsson knows that touch screen functionality is here to stay, but a recent patent application shows off that they aren’t content with what we have today, and is working on a way to utilize touches to – get this, transfer information between a myriad of other devices. This method is touted to work with a remote device that is used to register the touches, while another will come with either a touch screen display or a standard one. Gestures can be a mere tap or multi-touch, but that’s not the most important facet. No idea when this revolutionary patent will take off with the masses, but when it does, you can bet your bottom dollar that normal touch screen functionality is on its way out.
