While USB 3.0 was revealed to the world quite a while back, here we are with the official specifications. It has a 4.8Gbps rate which translates to a data transfer rate of approximately 600MB/s – that’s just uber! Imagine transferring a 25GB file in just 70 seconds – something unthinkable of today. Unfortunately for us, old USB cables won’t be able to hit such speeds as you’ll probably need to revamp your entire USB device collection. Fret not though – USB 3.0 devices will most likely roll out sometime in 2010, so there’s no point in holding off USB devices till then.
