Zune Subscription Model Updated

The Zune is lacking behind Apple’s iPod for sure in virtually all aspects, and its software side isn’t too hot either. Well, at least Microsoft has made a positive change this time round after coming to agreements with major and independent music labels that will offer a much more consumer-friendly subscription music model. The revamped Zune Pass subscription service will enable users to select up to 10 tracks monthly to keep and add them to their permanent collection, in addition to the current access to millions of tracks for $14.99 monthly. This equals to freebies worth $10 or so, which is good news in today’s economic climate where every cent counts. For folks who want to have a go at the Zune Pass subscription experience, Zune will be offering a free, 14-day trial to all new customers. [Press Release]
