Fake DS Lites Could Cause Harm And Injury

Don’t get too excited if you think you stumbled upon a great deal of a Nintendo DS (if those still exist on store shelves, that is) or DS Lite, as you might end up with burnt fingers – literally. HM Revenue & Customs have issued a warning concerning hundreds of counterfeit handhelds which were seized at national freight depots recently, and those units that slipped the dragnet might actually come with power adaptors that failed to live up to UK safety standards. This cold, hard fact will make them liable to cause “serious harm or injury”, according to HMRC’s head of intellectual property rights, Pamela Rogers. Well you know what to do to prevent your digits from getting singed – buy from Nintendo themselves directly or via a reputable store.
