Foxit Software To Ship eSlick E-book Reader

The Amazon Kindle might be the runaway winner where the current generation of e-book readers are concerned despite its rather high $359 price point, but the Kindle could soon quiver in its boots with Foxit Software’s eSlick. This model will retail for $229 from next month onwards, measuring a mere 0.4″ in thickness with a 6″ electronic paper screen that has a resolution of 600 x 800 pixels. The display might seem familiar to some since it is manufactured by the same company that supplies displays to the Kindle, which means you benefit from an easy-on-the-eyes, grayscale reflective screen. Text can be resized, while the eSlick is smart enough to reflow your document when the need arises. Other features include 128MB internal memory, a USB port and an SD memory card slot. You can choose from black, gray or white colors, with the battery lasting for up to 8,000 page views before it requires a recharge. Too bad there is no Wi-Fi connectivity included.
