Perhaps the boffins at Nokia have a penchant for origami, which is why they recently applied for a patent on Christmas that results in a Communicator-class device which can be folded out into a quartet of attached pieces, where one can deduce whether two will be used for a keyboard and the other two for the display. It remains to be seen as to what Nokia has in store for such a device, whether it will be a communications-centric smartphone or will it cater more for fun and games on-the-go? Well, they’d best place an order for door hinges soon if the patent image you see above is anything to go by.
