OCZ takes the road less traveled with its new Throttle eSATA Drive that comes with a mini USB port in case of emergencies, as this flash stick is able to utilize the additional bandwidth offered by eSATA via either a native port or add-in card to achieve data transfer speeds which are much closer to that of a hard drive, touching read and write speeds of 90MB/s and 30MB/s, respectively. This enables users to store high definition videos as well as other speed-dependent content on it, with the ability to play those files back directly from the drive without running the risk of dropped frames or stuttering conversations. The OCZ Throttle is 100% bus-powered and won’t require pesky drivers to work. It will arrive in 8GB, 16GB and 32GB capacities, although no pricing details have been confirmed yet.
