OCZ Vertex SSD Launched

OCZ has a spanking new range of 2.5″ SATA II SSDs known as the OCZ Vertex Series, and it will come in capacities ranging from 30GB to 60GB, 120GB and 250GB. Features include :-

• 64MB of on board cache
• 160MB/sec write speeds
• 200MB/sec read speeds

That’s pretty fast by any standards, and prices start from $129 upwards all the way to $869 for the 250GB model. Guess SSDs still have a long way to go before catching up with hard drives in terms of bang-for-your-buck, although SSDs do have their unique positions of strength to entice the geek in you.
