OpeniMac Sells Mac Clones

Cloning hits new heights with OpeniMac offering Mac clones in Argentina even before the Psystar lawsuit is settled. OpeniMac has in store a couple of computers that are powered by Mac OS X Leopard, chugging along to the following tune :-

  • Intel Core 2 Duo 2.53GHz processor
  • 2GB RAM
  • 320GB SATA hard drive
  • SuperDrive
  • ATI Radeon HD PRO

That model will retail for $990, while those who want a souped up version will have to fork out $1,710 – nearly double the price of the former, but you do get a much larger hard drive (500GB), up to 4GB RAM, a 3GHz processor and a bumped up NVIDIA GeForce GS video card. Both models do share a 6-in-1 memory card reader. One thing’s for sure, neither clone computer bears a handsome resemblance to the original, but function over form, eh?
