Roku Unveils Couple Of Updates

Roku has rolled out two free updates for its Internet-enabled Netflix movie-streaming set-top box that brings advanced compression capable of streaming HD video that ought to work just fine even if you’re subscribed to an average consumer broadband connection, while the second update will see the addition of A/V streaming from sources apart from Netflix – that means you can now enjoy shows on Web sources like YouTube, Hulu, Comedy Central and MSNBC among others. These updates were supposedly announced in view of stiff competition from other similar providers that rely on Internet-based video-on-demand STBs. Leveling the playing field is not good enough, as one needs to get a breakthrough in order to truly stand out from the crowd.
