Samsung Ego GT-S9402 Gets Official

Just when you thought that only Iomega has an ego, along comes Samsung and their Ego GT-S9402 cell phone. Made from “liquidmetal” composite alloy developed by Caltech, the Ego is one tough handset that is touted to be “3 times stronger, can withstand 1.8 times the pressure, is 1.6 times more flexible, has 3 times better vibration absorption and 100% lower thermal conductivity than titanium“. That’s a pretty radical claim, which means this is great for bonking the head of your partner whenever you get mad at him/her. The Samsung Ego S9402 will also feature the following :-

  • Triband GSM (900/1800/1900 Mhz), GPRS/EDGE connectivity on 1st SIM card
  • Dual band (900/1800 Mhz), GPRS/EDGE connectivity on 2nd SIM card
  • 2″ 262k color QVGA AMOLED display
  • 5 megapixel camera
  • Autofocus, image stabilization, smile detection, WDR and LED flash
  • Integrated FM Radio with RDS
  • 1GB built-in memory
  • microSDHC memory card slot
  • Bluetooth 2.0 and USB connectivity

Too bad this doesn’t come with 3G connectivity or Wi-Fi support, otherwise it would’ve made for a pretty decent high-end handset. Expect to fork out around 1,200 Euros when it is released.
