TakaraTomy Beckoning Cat Goes Solar

TakaraTomy is famous for their line of quirky toys, and this time round they have enlisted the help of solar panels in order to roll out a line of ‘beckoning cat’ devices that are often found in Japanese and Chinese stores if you hang out around the counter. If you haven’t seen any of these before, chances are you have been eyeing that hot Asian doll with long, black hair and luscious lips instead of drinking in the overall atmosphere of the store. These beckoning cats are rumored to keep evil spirits out while acting as a conduit for good luck to the store’s proprietor, at least that’s what Japanese tradition says. You can choose from 27 different species for approximately $10 a pop. These will be available exclusively in Japan.
