Are you sick and tired of your iPhone-toting friends poking fun at your iPod which can’t make any calls? Well, Truphone feels for you with its new software solution that is able to turn the iPod touch into an iPhone of sorts. You will need a microphone adapter first though, and will be able to make free calls to users of Truphone’s Internet telephony service, other iPod touch owners and even Google Talk users. This new application is free at the App Store, and will see new features as shown below in the near future :-
- Making and receiving low-cost calls to and from landlines
- Calling and instant messaging to Skype and MSN (free)
- Check and set facilities for Facebook (free)
- Check and set facilities for Twitter (free)
Not exactly iPhone capability yet, but at least it is a start.
