Verbatim Rolls Out Speaker Keyboard

We would normally associate Verbatim with their data storage solutions (who can forget those Teflon-coated floppies back in the days where 5.25″ disks reigned supreme?), but this time round they are offering the Speaker Keyboard that comes with built-in stereo speakers located on its top tilted edge, relying on USB connectivity to power the speakers as well as its backlight. Bear in mind that once you plug this in, the integrated USB audio chipset will override the system sound. This isn’t too good if you’re running on a dedicated sound card with your rig, and the lack of a headphone hole would mean you can’t take full advantage of your set of speakers. This definitely doesn’t sound worth splurging $75 on to us – what about you?
