Zvox Releases Z-Base 550 Home Theater Surround System

Zvox has rolled out its latest Z-Base 550 home theater surround sound system that crams virtually everything ranging from amplifiers, speakers, subwoofer and sound processing hardware into a single cabinet that functions as the base for a free-standing flat-panel TV. The box itself measures 3″ tall, and inside it holds five 2″ speakers as well as a 5.25″ subwoofer that purportedly is able to deliver virtual surround sound courtesy of Zvox’s very own PhaseCue software. You won’t get too much a thump with the Z-Base 550, but it ought to be enough for cozy apartments with a total system power of 60W.
