Most external hard drive enclosures are pretty standard in design – boxy, and generally not very appealing to the eyes. Manufacturers who put more effort in their products come up with the occasional fine-looking chassis, but otherwise, an LCD display on the exterior is more often than not left out. Not so with this 3.5″ hard drive enclosure – it features an LCD display that shows you the drive’s current state including temperature, fan rotation speed and a built-in warning system that alerts you whenever things get a wee bit too hot within. In addition, the enclosure itself features an 8cm fan that will change its rotation speed automatically, depending on the temperature within. You can bring this home for $85, and that price does not include a hard drive.
