Just last Sunday, we were talking about whether or not Apple’s design edge would “save them” from a depressing economy, and today’s results show that margins are stable, which is quite extraordinary in this financial environment. The (record) revenues came in at $10.17B, which translates in a profit of $1.61B for the fourth quarter of 2008. Here are a few highlights fpr Q4:
- 2,5M Mac computers sold
- 22.7M iPod sold
- 4.3M iPhone sold (+88% compared to last year)
In short: even during hard times, good design sells. [link]
