Apple has quietly updated the white plastic MacBook by throwing in NVIDIA’s 9400M platform, and this upgrade will place the cheapest MacBook on par with the aluminum model where graphical ability is concerned, while the processor has been given a boost to match the Intel Core 2 Duo 2GHz and 1,066MHz system bus found on the mid-range model. Not only that, Apple has also bumped the amount of minimum integrated memory to 2GB, although it is still of the 667MHz DDR2 variety instead of the faster 1,066MHz DDR3 found in the unibody aluminum models. You won’t find any Mini DisplayPort on this upgraded MacBook as well, since Apple decided to stick with the regular Mini DVI output instead. At $999, it is beginning to sound like a steal.
