FCC Approves GSM MiFi Router

Novatel’s MiFi 3G-to-WiFi router has just been given the nod of approval by the FCC, so those who are happily surfing on AT&T’s 3G network can let out a whoop of joy since the MiFi now boasts 850 and 1900MHz EDGE plus 1900MHz HSPA data support. It goes without saying that a CDMA/EV-DO version is inevitable, but until that day comes, AT&T customers will be the first to benefit from owning a cool-looking router which allows their WiFi-enabled gadgets to stay connected to the Internet at all times. Unfortunately, important details like pricing and availability still elude us, so here’s to a cheap initial price with the corresponding data plan.
