G-CORE Mini Caddy with Mirasol Display

G-CORE just launched Mini Caddy, a Golf-oriented GPS device that is the first GPS to use a Mirasol display from Qualcomm. We’ve mentioned the display technology back in October (at CTIA SF), but the idea behind Mirasol is that it’s ultra-low power, but it is also very readable in direct sunlight, a quality not shared by most LCD displays. At the moment Mirasol can’t reproduce a whole lot of colors, but we’ve been told that the technology should be able to improve rapidly, we’ll see I guess. Before it makes it to phones and MP3 players, there are a lot of devices ranging from calculators to Bluetooth headsets that could benefit from Mirasol.
