
Japan’s biometric fingerprinting system that is supposed to screen the fingerprints of all foreigners who drop by might sound like a good idea from a security point of view, but unfortunately, it has been rendered useless by a very simple DIY solution – a South Korean woman who obtained a false passport in her country used a piece of tape on her fingers to bypass Japanese customs. Talk about embarassing! We’re sure the Japanese will iron such kinks out, and we await the next edition on how a multi-million dollar system can be bypassed in the future by a no-brainer solution that costs less than a dollar.
