OQO model 2+ On Display

[CES 2009] As promised, we hunted down the OQO model 2+ at the Digital Experience in order to dig for more details such as its specifications and pricing. It is already available for pre-order, but let’s get into the nitty gritty of things. There will be two versions available as shown below.

1.33GHz

• Intel Atom Z520 processor
• Windows XP Home
• 60GB hard drive
• 1GB DDR2 SDRAM
• Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity
• 5″ VGA LCD touchscreen display

1.86GHz

• Intel Atom Z540 processor
• Windows Vista Business or Windows XP Professional
• 120GB hard drive
• Optional 60GB SSD
• 2GB DDR2 SDRAM
• Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity
• 5″ VGA AMOLED touchscreen display

The slower model 2+ will retail for $999, while the speedier one costs 50% more at $1,499. You can also pick up a dual layer CD/DVD+_RW drive for $399. It is rather small to the hands, but those familiar with touch typing will find themselves at home when it comes to composing emails and text messages. Would you pick one up?
