Palm Might Feel Apple’s Pinch After All

Just last Friday, Palm was saying that it can more than defend itself against an Apple potential legal onslaught. However, Apple was awarded a patent on multitouch for a “portable multifunction device”. The documents describes how the gestures work, and Palm uses things that are exactly like that, the pinch and zoom being the most obvious example.

This is not a surprise for Palm. They must have been reviewing the patent and we believe that they have a plan, even if it looks like they are fighting an uphill battle here. “If faced with legal action, we are confident that we have the tools necessary to defend ourselves.” Palm said. In the meantime, Palm’s stock is down 8.4%.
