Since the Palm Pre was announced at CES, it has proven itself to be the most likely candidate for an iPhone killer, and this has led to Apple issuing a veiled warning that they will be going after anyone who infringes upon their patents. Palm has now shot back, brimming with confidence that the Pre has its a host of its own “fundamental patents” for mobile devices which will be able to stand on its own in the court of law no matter who might make an accusation against it for patent infringement. Can’t these guys play nice with each other? We want to see Palm succeed this time round and stay around for the future, as healthy competition is always a good thing since everybody wins.
