Toshiba NB100 Gets Memory Upgrade

Toshiba is not a name one would associate with netbooks immediately, but that doesn’t mean the Japanese company has not rolled out any to date. The NB100 is an example despite not being a netbook of choice among users, and hence Toshiba has decided to upgrade their seminal netbook by increasing its storage capacity to 160GB if you opt for a hard drive or 64GB if you want to take the SSD route. Apart from that, system specifications still remain the same, so here’s a refresher course in case you’ve forgotten :-

  • 8.9″ WSVGA screen with LED Backlight
  • Intel Atom N270 1.6GHz processor
  • Intel 945 GSE Express Chipset
  • 1GB RAM
  • Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity
  • 0.3 megapixel webcam
  • Windows Vista/Windows XP

We’d suggest you opt for Windows XP instead, since netbooks generally lack the processing power to handle Vista decently. Unfortunately, this upgraded NB100 seems to be a Japan-only product, so keep your fingers crossed that it’ll be available elsewhere if you want one badly.
