Windows 7 On Acer Aspire One

Have a first generation Acer Aspire One netbook (the ones that measure 8.9″)? Well, if you’ve gotten sick and tired of it and are looking out for a new netbook, why not turn this device into an experimental one? After all, the 8GB of storage space inside is more than adequate for Windows XP or most Linux distributions, but not Windows 7, and that’s what we’re trying to install in this tiny machine. David at Electronic Pulp has found a way to run Windows 7 on it, using the age-old solution of disk compression. The process will probably cause you to grow a beard in the process, taking nearly a couple of days, but once you’re done, you’ll not only have Windows 7 running on it but have around 2GB of free space to play around with as well. Want to give it a go?
