Just when you thought that BMW’s 5 Series and their Heads Up Display was cool, it seems as though that cars of the future will also have this feature thanks to Superimaging Japan who are already working on a prototype, letting your speedometer and miscellanous dials appear on the windshield instead of the dashboard like what we have today. UV light is used to convert normal light whenever it hits the ‘media glass’ – which essentially is a normal piece of glass that has been treated with a special film. There is no word on when this technology will be fully commercialized, but as with new stuff that makes our lives better and more convenient, the sooner the better.
