If you can’t get something done, why not do it yourself? That’s what TenaciousDre from the EeeUser forums decided to do after realizing his Eee PC lacked the battery power for long distance performance, and hence he decided to put his knowledge into practice by hooking up a 12-cell battery to his Eee PC instead. The unfortunate machine to have its parts donated is an ancient Pentium II notebook with some help from electrical tape to keep everything in place. This 12-cell battery offers up to 12 hours of battery life, but that number will drop when you run plenty of applications on the Eee PC along with Wi-Fi connectivity turned on. The only drawback? The Eee PC won’t be that portable nor light anymore, but that’s a sacrifice you’ll have to make.
