
Sometimes, you might want to hear the TV from a distance, but without increasing the overall volume too much – may be because you’re in the kitchen, or because your spouse is sleeping next to you or because grandpa is the only one who needs a sound boost – these are examples from the ELPA website (Japanese). This a remote control (they call it “universal remote”, but we’re having a hard time seeing the universal part) that includes a wireless speaker. The idea is that a remote is always nearby, so integrating a proximity speaker just made sense. Clearly not everyone needs one, but we thought that you should know that it’s out there…
