Garmin, Asus Team Up

Garmin and Asus have gone to bed together after a brief romance, and this strategic alliance was announced in Taiwan today, touting the main intention of developing a diverse cell phone product line that will fall under the Garmin-Asus nüvifone series. Not one but several Garmin-Asus nüvifone models are tipped to hit the market this year, and the first of these will be announced at the upcoming Mobile World Congress 2009 in Barcelona. It is interesting to see Asus bring its rather limited cell phone experience to the floor as their smartphones haven’t really caught the imagination of the world in the past so far. We are interested to see what the nüvifone G60 is able to do when it reaches retail stores in the first half of the year. Will it be an iPhone killer? [Press Release]
